Introducing a new Studio Design form

We're excited to announce that we've overhauled our Studio Design form. Now it's easier than ever to select the design elements and considerations we'll need to create a custom-designed email stationery that frames your organization's campaigns in style and helps your brand stand out in inboxes.

Here we'll cover the basics of filling out the Studio Design form, including:

While your form is in progress, your choices are saved in the right-hand sidebar of the form, so you can review at any time. You can also click within that sidebar to return to a section of the form, should you want to make a new selection.

Uploading your organization's logo

Your organization's logo serves as the foundation for your design. To upload your logo, follow these steps:

  1. Click the Let's get started, shall we? button on the form's first screen. Now, check that the Upload your logo option is selected.
  2. Click on the Choose file button to select the logo file on your computer. Acceptable file formats include EPS, TIF, GIF, JPEG, PDF or PSD files. We cannot accept Publisher, Quark, Pagemaker, InDesign or other layout files. Your file should be smaller than 5 MB.
  3. Once you've selected the file on your computer, click Open.
  4. Then, click Next step to move on.

Using text instead of a logo

You may decide that you'd prefer text over a logo. In that case, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the Use text instead radio button.
  2. Type in your organization's name, and click the Choose font button.
  3. Click on the font of your choice, and then click Save selection. (If you change your mind after saving, you can click Change font.)
  4. Then, click Next step to move on.

Adding an optional tagline

We'll add a tagline or slogan to your stationery, if you'd like.

  1. Type the tagline as you'd like it to appear on your stationery. If you'd rather not include a tagline, leave this section blank.
  2. Click Next step to move on.

Customizing your colors

Your stationery's colors bring it to life. You can choose a primary color for major design elements, a secondary color for supporting elements and an accent color for smaller details and links. Follow these steps:

  1. Select I'd like to choose my own colors, if you'd like to select the colors from a color swatch or add a hex value, or select I'd like the Emma designer to use colors from my website if you'd like us to match the colors on your website.
  2. If you select the second option, simply type in your website's URL, and our designers will match its colors. If you select to choose your own colors, first select the Primary color by clicking a color from the color swatch, or by clicking to add a hex value and typing a 6-digit hex value (for example, #FF0000).
  3. Click on the Secondary and Accent titles and repeat step 2.
  4. If you change your mind, click on the Primary, Secondary or Accent titles, and choose new colors.
  5. Then, click Next step to move on.

Adding optional social links

If you'd like to include links to your organization's blog, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or YouTube pages, here's the place to do it.

  1. Type in the full URLs for the sites you'd like to include. You can leave blank any that you'd rather not include.
  2. Click Next step to move on.

Adding texture and elements

The texture serves as your stationery's backdrop, and the elements are decorative motifs that'll work with and enhance your organization's logo. Texture and elements are optional, but we recommend choosing at least one - if not more - to give your stationery its unique style.

  1. Click Choose texture.
  2. Use the dropdown menu to select a theme, and then choose a texture within that theme. (Themes include: classic, collage, distressed, edgy, fancy, floral, illustrated, modern, retro, summer and vintage. Each theme includes a variety of textures to choose from.)
  3. Choose Save selection. If you change your mind, you can select Change texture. Select Choose none if you'd rather not select a texture.
  4. Repeat for Element 1 and/or Element 2. Each theme includes a variety of elements to choose from.
  5. Once you've selected a texture and element(s), verify that your selections appear within the form.
  6. Click Next step to move on.

Setting the header shape

Here you'll customize the shape of your stationery's header image.

  1. Click Choose top shape.
  2. Select the shape you'd like at the top of your header image, and click Save selection.
  3. Click Choose bottom shape.
  4. Select the shape you'd like to round out the bottom of your header image, and click Save selection.
  5. If you change your mind, click Change top shape or Change bottom shape to make a new selection.
  6. Then, decide if you'd like your header image to contain a drop shadow. The distinction is slight, and it's up to your preference.

    Here's a header image with a shadow:

  7. Click Next step to move on.

Adding your contact info

You're on the home stretch! Fill in your contact information so an Emma designer can reach you with any questions. Then, review your selections in the right sidebar of the form, and click to edit selections where needed. Don't worry - clicking back to a former spot in the form won't erase any selections. You can edit selections as needed without starting over from scratch.

Now, check the box to approve the Studio Design charge, and make sure you've read our revision policy. Then, click Request your stationery.
